Kristie Poole joined the Adolescent Development Lab as a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow. Kristie studies children's socio-emotional development, with a particular focus on the origins and outcomes of temperamental shyness.
Meghan Borg (PhD Student) was awarded the QEII Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology, OGS, and the SSHRC $105K Doctoral Award – her application to SSHRC was ranked 1st by the adjudication committee.
Taylor Heffer (PhD Student) was awarded a NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship - her application was ranked 1st by the adjudication committee. Taylor will be completing her postdoc at Harvard University with Leah Somerville.
We're excited to kick off year 6 of BHYP! Data collection starts in January 2022.  Taylor presented research at the Flux conference on the role of medial frontal thea amoung children and adolescents with consistently high sensitivity threat.  Meghan presented research at Society for Research in Child Development on the prevalence of affinity for solitude (i.e. enjoying spending time alone) among late adolescents and emerging adults, as well as research on why adolescents spend time alone and how this is related to psychosocial adjustment.  Meghan is a first year PhD student in the Psychology Department. Welcome to the lab!
